PERSONAL BRANDING
PERSONAL BRANDING AND ITS IMPORTANCE
Personal
branding is the process of building blocks in order to take our business to
succeed in future and lead to many opportunities for advancement in the career.
It is the combination of skills and experiences (Potgieter and Doubell, 2020).
Moreover, it will differentiate one’s business and will allow the individual to
build the trust of prospective clients and employers. It is an excellent way of
demonstrating the skills and knowledge about the particular field and will lead
to a multitude of opportunities like promotion, networking opportunities, job
interviews. Furthermore, it inspires trust in the audience as it has been found in a survey that millennials nowadays do not trust businesses using traditional
advertising, this is the reason why influencer advertising is so successful.
USING
SOCIAL MEDIA FOR PERSONAL BRANDING
Researchers Lundgren et al (2020) says that
sharing online will allow individuals to craft an online persona that will
reflect both the professional skills and personal values of the individual. They believed that building
personal brand on social media will take the individual to the next opportunity
and will foster valuable connection. An individual can use social media in the
following ways for the purpose of personal branding: One needs to update their
social media account and ensure that all the information is accurate and
complete (Park et al, 2020).
One can make posting easy with apps, they need to maintain an online presence.
Sprout, Hootsuite and Buffer also can be used in order to connect to social
media networks and remove the need to login to multiple websites (Lundgren et al, 2020). Sharing content and keep the line of communication open with the audience on a regular
basis will better help in gaining engagements. However, they should overshare
that it looks desperate. Also, an individual can create or curate engaging contents
in order to demonstrate expertise within the industry. One can also import
contacts from Outlook or Gmail into social network o reach connections that are
missing.
EXAMPLES
There
are many good examples of using social media for personal branding such as one
can use blogging for personal branding, which is a trending strategy that
is being used by many top influencers. It will allow building an audience faster
and easier. Use branded links it will make the individual’s brand
look professional and let him promote their personal brand instead of promoting
a generic link shortening service. Also, one can use personalised images so
that audiences can remember their personal brand. The creation of unique pictures
will go a long way in telling a story. There are many excellent influencers who
